We spent a few days on Mull in October 2016 and while there took the ferry over to Iona. Iona is the traditional burial ground of Scottish Kings and Lords of the Isles and is a very sacred and solemn place. John Smith, a former Labour Party leader is buried there in a very simple grave, with the quote, "An honest man's the noblest work of God". There is also a memorial to those killed in a shipping accident and to sailors washed up on the beach in 1940 ' Known unto God' but sadly unknown for the graves. Mull itself is also a beautiful island, very wild and unspoilt. The brightly coloured houses are in Tobermory in the harbour there, perhaps best known as Balamory now!
